Deezer Launches Tool to Detect AI-Generated Music Across Streaming Platforms
Deezer has introduced a new tool that scans playlists from various streaming services to identify AI-generated music, addressing growing concerns about the use of copyrighted material in AI training. Announced on Thursday, the free online AI music detector supports 27 languages and is compatible with 20 popular platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and YouTube Music. Deezer's CEO, Alexis Lanternier, emphasized the company's commitment to transparency in music streaming, as it actively removes AI tracks from recommendations and editorial playlists. The launch comes as Deezer reports that 44% of new music uploaded to its platform is AI-generated, with a significant portion flagged as fraudulent. The tool allows users to import their playlists and receive notifications regarding AI content, further positioning Deezer as a leader in the fight against AI music.
